Cankles vs Stacey...Cankles are the victor.
Well, I don't think a group could get more out of a day in Rome if they tried. Mass in St Peter's, the Forum and Collesseum, the Vatican Museums and walking tours with very knowledgeable Bishops.
One of the greatest highlights today was spending time with a smaller group and Bishop Terry walking to some significant sites in Roma. As we walked along the cobbled side streets, Bishop Terry expertly guided us through his second home. I expected to see the Trevi Fountain, the Piazza Novona and the Pantheon, but then we popped into a church to see a Giotto, the call of Matthew I think. This painting features the finger of God pointing to Matthew, not dissimiliar to the creation painting in the Sistine Chapel. Wow! Random and amazing.
We heard a lot about people being called today. St Peter, St Paul. I wonder what those on our pilgrimage have been called to do and how they might discover this.
Kids- I walked through the Holy Door. See the Gallery for some pics.
Tomorrow, we head to Assisi. This will be a first for me and I am very excited!
