So, this time next week the pilgrims on the JPII Trail will be in Rome. The plane trip will be behind us and we will beginning our pilgrimage in earnest. Currently, I feel like I've done most of the things I need to do to get prepared. I have my documents. I've been commissioned as part of the Victorian group and as part of my parish. I've even started packing (kind of). However, I know that the most enriching parts of other WYD pilgrimages have been the things that you can't prepare for. It's the people you meet. The moments of prayer. The unexpected and unplanned that really touch your heart and stay with you. Who knows what these will be this time. I know that I'm excited to head back to Rome and to experience Assisi. I'm fascinated by what awaits in Poland and I'm energised by the thought of travelling with a group of faith filled young Catholics. I know that my 5th WYD will be something to remember and I know I'm ready for it to begin. First stop, Rome.
